How does BHP compare to other b-schools? (ranking terms)

McCombs is #10 in Business Week.

7 US News

Comments for McCombs,

“Accounting and honors programs get high marks, and recruiting wins raves.”

UT has the #1 job placement in the country, so businesses will be looking for you, even if you aren’t in the B-school.

If you listen to feladis, these businesses are all in Texas, but then, who would ever want to leave Texas.

My dream job is one that will let me live in Austin and be able to afford to send my kids to Eanes ISD schools.

BHP places JUST as well as Wharton on Wall Street. In fact, companies like Goldman Sachs come specifically to BHP (bypassing the rest of UT) to recruit.

To get a better idea of who comes to BHP to recruit, use the link here: [Corporate - Business Honors Program - McCombs School of Business - The University of Texas at Austin](http://www.mccombs.utexas.edu/programs/bhp/corporate/recruit.asp)

Blackstone, Ernst & Young, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, McKinsey, UBS, and SmithBarney are just a few.

BHP may not be that well known as Wharton is in terms of household names, but where it counts, BHP will get you wherever you want to go.

i heard that wharton’s full of ugly people too. BHP is a bunch of hotties.

My cousin goes to Wharton. She’s hot. There are plenty of hot people there.

How is BHP compared then other top b-school programs like Ross or Haas (they dont have any Honors business programs, but their student body is academically as competitive as BHP students)? If you were given a choice, what would you choose to take.

You should not ask that on the UT forum. The only answer you will get is BHP.

cousins are not objective enough to declare each other hot.

i kid! i just wanted to add something silly to the graveness of this thread. <3

Wow. I just received a phone call offering me admission to BHP and an invitation to Discover BHP. It was so late I had sort of given up hope. I’m in!

OMG! I am so jealous! I am still waitinggg UGH…tomorrow would mark 3 weeks since I had my interview.

UGH…tomorrow would mark 3 weeks since I had my interview.

I’ve already gotten into Northwestern and Rice yesterday and waitlisted by Duke, but been impatiently waiting for BHP to mail/call.

jsa928: when did you have your BHP interview? How much later did they notify you?

P.S. CONGRATS!!!

You should def go to Discover BHP if you can!

My interview was March 1. So I waited over 3 weeks to hear. Thanks for the congrats. I will definitely be at the Discover BHP. They said this year was more competitive than ever.

And I was rejected from Northwestern yesterday. Oh well, I would take Austin over the frigid north any day.

I got in too. It’s funny because the interviewer said to my face (over the phone) that she wouldn’t be surprised if I didn’t get in. I got in a week later. Also, I got rejected from LAH - but there is another thread for that.

HAH- anyone looking forward to Discover BHP!?
