The bickering on this board has reached unbelievable levels. I am so glad my S is already at USNA. If I were a new person to this board looking for help from the "experts" here who are so quick to point out the slightest error in each statement from the other "expert" that I would be looking to steer my S to the other academies. If this is the representative group of Grads on here I am so disapointed. Some have been banned and come back with fake sign in's (you know who you are 69/mombee). I have met some of the posters on here in person. They are great. however the BS level of petty childishness has reached to the point where I cannot point anyone in this direction to get information. I now carry a card in my wallet that has a contact person in the admissions dept who I know will ACCURATELY portray the correct info.
Grads, BGO's WIWAM's You all have reached new levels of low. Stop the bickering and help the kids. I wish the best for the new candidates.
Not all the folks in Annapolis are this similar to the hind end of an Army mule. Most are pretty nice. Especially Matt Klunder. I will miss him. (actually he will be not too far away so I may go and stop in on him)

Interesting comment on a post beseeching posters to be more professional.

Why is it that a mere parent whose son is already at the Academy feels so compelled to get “ACCURATE” information that he will unnecessarily interrupt an overloaded Admissions Department and yet at the same time ask posters on this forum to forsake accuracy for civility?

xchefmike, perhaps BGOs and grads are more familiar with some of the questions than a mere parent and feel that the forum should answer all questions “ACCURATELY”.

However, I do agree with you on one point. Ad hominem attacks such as yours have no place on this forum. And yes, candidates should, only after exhausting their BGO, contact Admissions with important concerns, so long as the phone lines aren’t tied up with parents of current Midshipmen making extraneous queries.

I do find it fascinating what some, so insecure in their beliefs, will do to keep from entertaining an opposing view. Doesn’t say much for their convictions, does it?

As a combat disabled veteran, totally disabled, with 24 years of military service , helping to preserve the rights of all posters to make whatever comments they wish, I do feel that I have earned the rights to present my own views.

mike …your good point and counsel made well, vividly illustrated in a mere handful of posts.

Communication withers when messengers require that self-righteousness trump the message, even that which might have been useful.

Seems it’s a much tougher lesson than memorizing and reciting alleged verbatim verse from a BGO manual. Perhaps some diversity training is needed there, helping to lend a different approach?

And when reason, logic and all else fails …attack your motive for daring to post. Dare you, Dad.

That is why alot of simple “seekers of information” have gone over to the other Board, so that we don’t have to continually read the “one upmanship” that is constantly occurs on this Board…funny, the “one upmanshipers” really don’t believe that your post is talking to them…

Lets hope that they can stay confined to this Board and not go over to the other one…I am sure they are well intended, they just ALWAYS get caught up in the “I am right and you are wrong” expert battle
