Just wondering how useful a bicycle is at Tufts, realizing, of course, that one likely doesn't use his/her bike during rain/sleet/snow. My kid is used to biking the hills where we live, so hills are not really a concern, given that everyone at Tufts seems to comment on that (wimpy--LOL) hill. Thank you.

No need. Tufts this past semester started a bike sharing program:

[Bike?share program to be unveiled this week - News - Tufts Daily - Tufts University](http://www.tuftsdaily.com/news/bike-share-program-to-be-unveiled-this-week-1.2524814)

So your daughter doesn’t need a bike.

The Hill. x_x

If your daughter doesn’t think it’s a big deal…major props to her.

The bikes can be taken out just from the library I think. If she ends up living in Houston or Miller, I think it might be worth getting a bike. But if she’s in Metcalf, then it would be silly.

If she’s planning on using her bike daily or almost daily, I’d recommend bringing her own. The bikes in the bike share program can only be rented for 8 hours at a time, so it’d be a nuisance for her to check one out all the time. Plus, from what you said, it sounds like she already has a bike that she uses. It wouldn’t be any extra cost to bring it, and it would save her a lot of time.

S2 seriously considered bringing a bike last year and ultimately decided not to. In May, he thought that was probably a good decision – though I could see him taking advantage of the bike share.

Thank you all for feedback.
