Bicycle help

My daughter is a freshman and wishes she had taken her bicycle with her.... I know about KoppsCycle and Jay's Cycles, but I'm not sure if they sell used bikes.

She wants to find something reasonably priced, especially as she isn't sure how much she'll use it. We're not sure what she should have to pay - new or used... it's just for around campus. Not racing or heavy duty travel.

Should she get the kind with narrow tires, thick tires, or whatever she finds is fine?

Do you think she can find one thru Tiger Trade?
Any other suggestions?

I figure I can also surf and if I can find something that can be sent to her, but I'm sure she wants it fairly soon, and I'm not sure what's involved with putting one together...

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Not too many places to get bikes around Princeton. I would definitely go for Jay's Cycle - they have a good student special for the first few weeks of school - and I got my bike there, even though I had a new one at home. I believe it was $250 or something like that, and it was significantly marked down so it's not like a cheap Wal mart bike.

Plus, they give you free tune ups through 6 months, and you can periodically come in and put more air in your tires.

Beware of biking on Nassau and Witherspoon Street though; the Princeton Borough police have been cracking down on the "no-ride policy" and you'll get a $50 ticket if you're caught. And the area is swarming with cops because they don't really have anything better to do.

Thanks - I'm hoping she holds off until parent's weekend, when we can bring her bike to her and that'll be that.....
