How useful are bicycles on campus?
I see lots of kids with bikes on campus. Helps a lot except for when there is a foot of snow and ice on the ground
I noticed bike racks in my daughter’s residential college with around 20 or 30 bikes, so some have them but it doesn’t seem to be a high proportion since there are several hundred students in the college. FWIW she wasn’t interested in having a bike on campus.
DS had a bike during freshman year, because he had scheduled classes unwisely, and couldn’t make it up the hill in time. The bike was subsequently stolen. He’s getting around fine without it.
My son asked for a foldable scooter that he can take into dorm and classrooms, and I got one for him over Christmas. He likes it a lot.
