I am very interested in the double degree program for music performance (clarinet) and a separate major at WCAS, probably something related to either math or science. I am a bit worried about the rigor of the curriculum, though. Of course, at as challenging a university as Northwestern, I will spend the majority of my time studying, but is this program too intense? Have you done it/do you know anyone who has? Is it reasonable to take on both degrees? How many hours a day does the typical music major practice? Also, how selective is the program? Northwestern is a highly selective school but is it even more difficult to be accepted as a double degree student? What percent of clarinetists are usually admitted? How many?
