^goldenboy was the one that mentioned Pac-12 first. i am not sure what you were smoking. it’s so obvious that the BIG is not up there with the Pac-12; just because i didn’t state explicitly doesn’t mean i thought otherwise.

Sam, Florida State and Clemson would run circles around OSU and Michigan this year i.e. the best teams in the B1G. The Badgers are having a down year unfortunately and teams like Indiana/Iowa/Minnesota are just awful. Duke is terrible but I think UVA and Wake are decent on the ACC side.

Wake barely got by Liberty U/ They are not good.

Duke has a winning record so far and is tied for 1st in the Coastal Division.

But Big East is better. Pittsburgh, probably the worst team in the league, beat VTech 35-17 while losing to Youngstown by the same margin.

The Big Least is by far the worst AQ Conference it’s not even arguable

^That’s the case according to this: <a href=“NCAAF - ESPN”>http://m.espn.go.com/general/blogs/blogpost?blogname=big12&id=55680

But an ACC person is not in a position to say that, at least not yet, since the Big East was 3-0 against the ACC last weekend.

goldenboy,
ACC and the BIG are pretty close to me

^goldenboy,
Clemson barely beat the bottom team of SEC. Don’t be so easily impressed. It’s probably overrated like it was 2 years ago - barely winning with a major meltdown later.

Jeff Sagarin’s computer ranking has the Big East #6 among conferences but only a whisker behind the ACC, and both of those well below the Big Ten. On a team by team ranking he’s got Clemson at #26 sandwiched between Michigan State and Wisconsin and several notches back of Nebraska.

But mostly I think it’s too early to tell. Some teams take a few games to work out the kinks and to start to gel as a team. People read way too much into those early games. As we get deeper into the season the computer rankings and the subjective rankings usually start to converge a little more. The one thing no one is seriously disputing at this point is that Alabama is #1. Sagarin has them a whopping 9 points ahead of #2 LSU (103-94), and as bad as Michigan looked against them in the season opener, Michigan’s still the only team that has scored against them this year. I’ll be surprised if 'Bama doesn’t pitch its third consecutive shutout this weekend against Florida Atlantic. And with the exception of LSU on Nov. 3, their SEC schedule looks like pretty much a cakewalk; they don’t play other top SEC teams like South Carolina, Florida, or Georgia.

^It is too early to tell. Perennially overrated Notre Dame beat Michigan State (considered the big 10’s top team) decisively. We’ll see how Michigan State, Michigan and Ohio State do before declaring anyone of the conferences superior to another. Regardless, the weakness of the big10 is a prevalent view:

The B1G is extremely weak right now with no national title contenders

(ACC - FSU, SEC - Bama, B12 - WVU, PAC - Oregon)

^kind of doesn’t matter as we know Alabama or LSU will win it all in the end.

Just like Bama was supposed to win 2 years ago?

Until they got jumped by a QB Out of Junior college named Cam Newton

^^ it would be nice to know that for sure by not allowing the team to lose the Alabama-LSU game to be precluded to play for the national championship, instead of deriving the huge benefits of preseason asinine ranking system and a rigged computer system.

A national championship like last year is a just a scam.

Barrk123, you’re a bit misinformed. Auburn was undefeated at the time and was ranked #2 in the country. Alabama had 2 losses going into the game: [Auburn vs. Alabama - Recap - November 26, 2010 - College Football - SI.com](http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/ncaa/gameflash/2010/11/26/42831_recap.html). On paper, this was expected.

No I’m not, I’m talking about preseason/early season predictions like you were making (Auburn was ranked 22 in the AP poll going into the 2010 season)

Tell met then, how did last year turn out? And has Alabama looked vulnerable at all? That’s what I thought.

Thats what they said before the 2010 season

we’ll see how it turns out. the SEC national title dominance is well known and documented.

^barrk123 is correct. Auburn was not considered a contender early in the season but they just kept winning, including quite a few close games, pretty much all because of Cam Newton. People didn’t know Cam Newton was that good early in the season because he was a junior college transfer.

Well the SEC did lose in the National title game just last year :)
