BIG 10-2012/2013 and on

Well, different games, different teams, but pretty much the same Denard. In 2011 against ND, Denard was pretty horrible through the first half and most of the 3rd quarter, then exploded for 4 TDs on Michigan’s last 5 possessions. Of Michigan’s first 8 possessions, 5 ended in punts (including 3 on 3-and-outs, and 2 on short drives that fizzled) and 2 in INT. But the 4th quarter Denard in that game looked like the 2010 Denard who gashed ND for 258 yards rushing and 244 passing.

This year’s Denard was neither as good as the 2011 4th-quarter miracle-maker or the 2010 Denard, nor as bad as the Denard of last year’s first 3 quarters. He pretty consistently moved the chains on offense, running for nearly 100 yards and passing for a bunch more, but he ended drives with unforced turnovers. Story of the game. No one was more frustrated than he was with his mistakes.

My teddy bears are a very mediocre team. Makes me feel a little better we got the win over the 'Ruins. We should have won at tOSU; it would have been given us much better momentum for U$C.

I see a lot of excuses but not any wins to prove they were aberrations

One of those rare events I have to agree with UCB; especially with the winning at tOSU part. Sorry Sparkeye! This said, you are still the best, by far, of that B1G conference. :)

Duke has its best team since the 1994 season when they played Wisconsin in the Hall of Fame Bowl (which was also its last Bowl appearance). At this point, besides maybe FSU and Clemson, Duke is capable of beating any other ACC team on any given day if the team shows up. Its so impressive what the team showed up when its lost so many players to injury. They need just one more game to make a bowl and it could come next weekend against VPI in Blacksburg.

Sagarin’s computer ranking, which leaves out the subjective stuff, has Notre Dame #4 this week, after Alabama, S. Carolina, and Oregon. That seems way high for the lackluster team I saw against Michigan, but whatever. Once they lose a couple, they’ll come back down to earth.

Among Big Ten teams he has Ohio State #14, Michigan #23, Nebraska #25, Penn State #31, Michigan State #34, Wisconsin #35, Northwestern #48, Iowa #55, Purdue #59, Minnesota #66, Illinois #84, and Indiana #90. Those relative rankings seem about right to me based on what they’ve shown so far, though some of these teams–Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and Iowa–seem to be on an upward trajectory, while Nebraska, Michigan State, Northwestern, and Purdue seem to be regressing. But we’re less than halfway through the season; there will be a lot of movement from here.

Among ACC schools (since there seems to be an ACC contingent on this thread), Sagarin has Florida State at #13, North Carolina #20, Clemson #24, VaTech #40, NC State #45, Miami #62, Georgia Tech #65, Maryland #72, Duke #75, Boston College #78, Virginia #89, Wake Forest #101.

FWIW, the ACC’s median ranking would be somewhere between Miami’s #62 and Georgia Tech’s #65. The Big Ten’s median would be between Wisconsin’s #35 and Northwestern’s #48. The ACC has 7 teams ranked #60 or lower (worse); the Big Ten has 3 teams ranked in that range.

^^^
Arizona State and TAMU?

Start waving them pompoms xiggi. You know you want to.

Going Viral!! Go Bucks!! :)

Ohio University should crack the top 25 within 2 weeks if they can keep from being upset

Good job, Bucks… you showed up the Cal band 5 years later:

Interesting, UCB. Thanks for sharing!! :)

The comment section of the video however reads:

Approaching 4 million viewers as we speak!! Go Bucks!! :p

^ Being plastered all over the news helps too…

^^ I hope there would be some positive correlation between this heavily publicized video clip and the boosting number of applicants this year (Common App). At current rate, tOSU’s “The Best Damn Band in the Land” (TBDBITL) video clip will achieve the most views in terms of marching band in the whole wide world by the end of day today. The galloping horse formation at 6:03 is epic according to all media, and the lowering of the flag at 7:25, a must see for the wolverine fans!! :p

"…and the lowering of the flag at 7:25, a must see for the wolverine fans!!"

Just more Buckeye obsession with all things maize and blue I suppose…

^ I watched the video and that horse formation was jaw dropping. It looks like they could’ve been in the Beijing Olympic opening ceremony…they were that crisp and well rehearsed.

The Big Least has more ranked teams than the ACC and B1G
lol!

Thanks for the kind words, UCB!! I believe there is also a headline about Cal and Nobel Prize today!! :)

Think on the bright side rjk, both schools have now instantly gone global!!! :p

@barrk123, “Big Least”… lol

All joking aside Sparkeye, tOSU band show was tremendous. :-)
