haha, I second that, fitted

There ARE bullies at college, and they're usually worse than those in high school because of the alcohol that is involved.

there's gonna bullies whether the age group ur dealing with is 5-10 or 55-60. you just gotta show them who's boss.

If you still have bullies after grade 10, you and your bullies are sad, pathetic human beings.

fitted & Spanks: Wait until you meet a couple of the latter and say that. =) I think those kinds get worse in college.. hmm.

um, only the bullies are pathetic, not those they bully

sure there are bullies everyone, and often, its jsut best to avoid them

Its the attidute that the person being bullied is weak, they are not, they often just have enough class to not say ugly mean things to a jerk, even though they may deserve it

Melli, I'll be a sophomore in college and I've yet to encounter anyone like that. Then again, I've never been "bullied" or picked on, or whatever you like to call it. I don't really have any characteristics that would make me prone to being insulted, lol. I'm pretty good at defending myself, though. If someone even tries to start with me I tend to verbally destroy him/her.

But I'd say that those who go to your college don't want to waste energy on bullying people. (Cornell.. drool. Haha) Maybe you're just an all around likeable guy? Haha I wouldn't know. There's different people at every school so who knows?

Ummm...there are definately adult bullies..and I'm sure they exist everywhere and every age.

Just look at Osama and Bush. Two of the biggest bullies today the world has even known.

I'm a girl, melli, lol.

There definitely are bulluies, but not the same kind that you encounter in hs. No one will slam you into a locker, give you a swirly in the toilet, or knock over your tray at lunch (not that that ever saw that happen in my hs, but you get my drift).

"adult" bullies are different; maybe they'll start rumors, or make mean or rude and sarcastic comments towards you. Bullying after high school is definitely there, but it's different. Not everyone will get bullied, but some will for sure. You have to learn how to stand up for yourself though, because once you say something back to a bully, they will learn that you are not as weak as they think, and will back off.

Lol alright, an all around lovable girl. Maybe that's why. =P

Rumors ai? They suck.

Hah...in my experience people never really grow up. You hear all the time about how high school is such dark and dangerous territory, and how adults just don't know what it's all about: the bullies, the peer pressure, the drugs, the work, the stress...But the truth is for every person that matures in their old age another one turns into a *****. Adults talk behind each other's backs, are catty, and even have cliques. The summer between senior year and college isn't some magic cure-all. In fact, 45 years sometimes isn't...LOL. So I'm not in college, but yes, there will be bullies. I swear.

The best thing to do is not to show weakness. Bullies will jump on that like a pack of hungry wolves on fresh meat.

The worst thing you can do is show that it gets to you when you are bullied. If you plaster a grin on your face and maybe toss a few remarks back, you're probably more likely to befriend the person than become the new bully bait of the college.

If you go to a large university, people outside of your group aren't going to pay much attention to you. It's both a good and a bad thing because you don't have to worry about your reputation with the student body as a whole. But it also means it's real easy to end up not knowing anybody at all if you were the kind of person in high school that waits for things to happen.
