Big Changes at the U???

I found this article on the U's website and thought others might be interested.

<a href="http://www.virginia.edu/topnews/%5B/url%5D">http://www.virginia.edu/topnews/</a></p>

It looks as if the University is continuing to move out from under state control. Hopefully, this greater autonomy will lead to a higher quality faculty and an even more talented student body (including an increased percentage of non-Virginians).

I think it will stay public anyway, but I'd love it to go private just so we can have more out of staters and a better quality of students and professors. This is hindered by the much larger intake of in-state students unfortunately.

I basically agree with everything tenniscraze just said hehe.

It would be nearly impossible for UVA to go private, so it probably won't. I don't think it was Thomas Jefferson's wish for UVA to be a private school, anyway.

completely off topic but cavalier302 can you send me the link to that document spread sheet thing or whatever it was that you posted that showed the admissions statistics broken down by race..
