For me:
PSAT: 239 with one off on reading
BUT
my December scores were 2260!!!!
i got 660 on CR because I was taking cold medicine that made me really woozy. I threw up all night the night before, didn't sleep much
Do you guys know other people with the same situation?
Can I definitely/most likely get closer to PSAT score this time?
what are some tricks/strategies that help on test day?
like eat this, not this
study these a few days before, not these
I really want to get matching scores with my psats
experienced advice much needed!

Just do the same routine you did to prep for the PSAT. :P

dont take cold medicine that makes you woozy next time then

I think everyone has a different strategy for test day foods, rest, etc., since everyone’s body reacts differently. I would just try to destress as much as possible the night before. Go out with your friends on Friday night or something (not late of course). At that point, last minute studying probably won’t do much good.

I would test out some foods to see what you feel works for you, but eating protein first thing in the morning will stay with you longer. Here (Atlanta) a favorite food before the test is chicken minis which are small pieces of chicken wrapped in a biscuit or roll. My sons took trail mix with them for snacks during the breaks and plain bottled water. I am sure other CCers have plenty of suggestions.

I agree with quickster94, relax and get a good night’s sleep the night before the test.

THANKS!
are there any fail safe tricks to success?

Goodness, I was also sick on the day I took my SATs, PSATs, and my bio SATs. (I think it’s becoming somewhat of a tradition.)

But moving along…I don’t think there are any FAIL SAFE ways to success but I’d like to share that the night before I took my SATs and PSATs I listened to classical music. xD I loosely believe in the “Mozart Effect.”

Well however you prepped for the PSATs seemed to really work (Congrats on the 239 by the way). Just keep yourself in good health and do the same thing. :)

And on the note of last minute studying/skipping school day before the test, I personally find it unnecessary, everything you need to know for the test should already be known.

Best of luck!

PSAT: 235 :)

SAT December… 2140 I wasn’t even sick (though I did have a lousy proctor)

For some reason though… I thought the PSAT was insanely easy… especially the CR. I also find that my brain fails me and gets lazy unless it knows that I only have one chance to get something right. Maybe you have the same problem?
