Big Dilemma: Business School or school of arts and sciences?

I have a problem:

I wish to apply to NYU, and I have pretty high stats. I know that Stern is a lot tougher to get into than the school of arts and sciences, but I am not completely sure if I want to do business or not. If I 'take it slow' and study in the liberal-arts curriculum first to discover what I truly want to study, I may not be able to transfer to Stern if I find out that business is indeed my true calling, since I understand that internal transferring to Stern is very hard/impossible.

So with all that being said, should I apply for the CAS or Stern??

I would go ahead and apply to Stern…take business for one semester/year and see how you like it. It’s probably easier to transfer outside of Stern than into it. Then again, its also harder to get in to Stern than CAS.

Go for Stern, if you think you can make it. Transferring down is much easier.

The problem with NYU is that they only consider you for the school you apply to. They won’t consider you for A&S if they reject you from Stern.

Someone correct me if the above statement is false.

NYU is the definition of a bubble waiting to burst. I have no idea how they can convince kids to study sociology for 50k a year.
