I've mainly been an A student with a few B's in tough classes. However I have had personal problems affecting my family resulting in B's and Cs this senior semester. Since I'm not applying early im very scared this sudden drop in grades due to personal reasons will make colleges not want to accept me since it is my most recent grades. Will colleges be understanding on senior grades and mainly emphasize 10-11 grades. Please Help!

First, how bad is the drop? Second, is the drop justifiable?

If you can explain these two, colleges may overlook it.

You have a problem, however, it may be partially addressed by: (a) making this an essay focus (what happened, why it adversely impacted your grades, what you are doing about it, and what you learned from the experience) and (b) ensuring your GC substantiates why this is an academic aberration caused by a legitimate, unusual situation.

@viphan freshman year I had the same personal problems so my grades were low. But then 10-11 grades I overcame it and got mostly A’s in AP classes. But the same came back and is hurting my grades. I probably end up with an A three B’s and a C

Okay, but be sure to tell that to your GC and colleges.

Yeah, this will probably hurt you, I’m sorry to say. That said, if your personal reasons are compelling, you may be able to minimize the damage.
