When you receive your admissions decision for WUSTL, does the size of the letter give it away? (I.e.--big=acceptance and small=rejection). Or will I not be able to tell until I open the letter?

Also, WUSTL's website says applicants will receive their decisions by 4/1, but do applicants usually receive their decisions before that date? Or acceptances first, then rejections last?

Please inform me :)

I wanna know too!

Also, aren’t acceptance letters generally in huge envelopes?

When I applied/was accepted, I found out online several days before I got the snail-mail version.
I’m fairly certain it was a big envelope (because they included something like a car window decal and a carabiner), but I don’t really remember.

For what it’s worth, my year (class of 2012) the decisions went online around noon central time on March 14th (which was a friday).

Everyone finds out at the same time.

edit: Nerdlings- I think I got acceptance letters from 2 schools in small envelopes, so there are schools that do that.

^I thought WUSTL only does decisions by mail?

Nope. They definitely, 100% release decisions online. I know mine were. I checked on my laptop during one of my classes after lunch.

This can easily be seen in the ED threads.

For the record, they don’t email you when decisions are posted online.
I noticed by chance of luck (I was having a good day, and decided to check).

If nothing else, the wustl cc board will literally explode once decisions are online.

I was just admitted early decision and I first received my decision online. And just as johnson181 said, they don’t email you. I also randomly decided to check. I only got an email the next day saying ‘if you haven’t already seen your admissions decision, you should do so’

In terms of envelope size - I actually got a package lol they mailed a binder out but not sure its the same way for regular considering one does not necessarily have to attend washu if admitted

When I got my decision (RD) last year, I think it was about halfway through March and I actually did receive an email telling me it was online. It was sometime at night, maybe 10-11 pm. And I received the giant envelope maybe a week later, but I can’t remember.

Wash U seems like it consistently releases its decisions 1-2 weeks before the specified deadline, whereas most other schools consistently stick to their specified deadlines.

I actually found out decisions had been released by a thread on CC where waitlist-ees expressed their shock at not being admitted. It was around a week before the mail acceptance (which was a very large envelope, certified I believe)

yeah I’m sure they release decisions online on WUSTL pathway sometime in mid march. I believe you’ll also get an email about it

I found out that decisions were online through CC, and then went onto the pathway to find out. This was on December 9th, so a little under a week before the decisions were mailed.

As an ED admit this year I got a legitimate FedEx package. It had a binder inside with all of the information and forms inside. Although I received this the Monday after my decision was online, so it was still before the “decisions mailed by” day. I guess they’re just excited to get them out?

Yup, if accepted, you’ll get a UPS box. It was quite annoying online because when I checked online around the 9th, I saw “congratulations” and I thought it was just “oh thanks for applying here” and didn’t read anything past the first word. But then like on the 13th one of my friends asked me if I’ve made it because one of her friends applied ED also and heard back. I literally FREAKED and checked online. Acceptance :D

^3/10? Wow thats pretty early Has 3/10ish been a trend the past couple of years?

3/10! Dang, I’ll be readily waiting for that date then!
