Big Future Website Changes 2021...What Happened?

I noticed dramatic changes in the individual college sections/write-ups. For example, previously, if you looked at the tab for “Paying for College”, you could find dollar figures line by line for Tuition, Room and Board, Books and Supplies, etc. to come up with a total cost for the school. These were typically updated every year. Plus, you could see a breakdown of popular majors at the school, etc.

The new version, which I started noticing in Aug/Sept of 2021, is a completely different look with hardly any useful info – for example, now for “Costs”, it describes “Net Costs” and mostly “Not Reported” for individual pieces of the total costs vs. the great info previously provided.

What happened? I cannot find anything in a press release from College Board regarding the changes to their website.

Anyone know what happened?

To see how dramatic this is, go check out Rider University in NJ and look at the picture. It is a pic of the parking lot…LOL!!!

Wow…I am surprised there are no responses? Therefore, does anyone know what the best third party sources for these statistics may be?

Thx!

The most accurate cost estimates will come directly from the schools. We used sites like Peterson’s to get an overview of different colleges and to create lists by region, major, etc., but we went directly to the individual college websites for more detailed information (admission requirements and statistics, costs, etc).

The Common Data Set for each school is the best source for statistics. They list admission statistics, test scores, GPAs, and much more.

Adding to the above that the student newspapers sometimes have more detailed and more recent accepted/matriculated student numbers and stats than the CDS.
