Last week the Palace hired an independent law firm to conduct an investigation to see if Meghan bullied the staff. Maybe I’m putting it a little baldly, but that’s the purpose of the investigation, right? I’m curious, does the Palace have a legal duty as employer to do this? Even though Meghan is gone? I’m trying to figure out why the Palace is doing this and what it is trying to accomplish. An additional question is, who is the Palace? Is the Palace an independent organization, or does the Queen have control?
Directly related to this, if an independent law firm is being hired to look into Meghan as bullier, why isn’t a firm being hired to look into the failure to protect Meghan from bullying. An example I’m thinking of is how the Palace allowed all the false media to stand about Meghan causing Kate to cry and how Meghan was not allowed to put out the truth.
And who is this firm reporting to? And is the report private (no doubt will be leaked if they want it to be), or public?
My question is what’s the difference between Gail King being H/M’s spokesperson versus ‘royal insiders’ being the Queen’s spokesperson? (Other than GK not being anonymous). This will not be handled ‘privately’.
What is there to be handled? H and M have left, they are settling up financially. M&H can return to the UK for weddings and funerals.
I don’t see what is left to resolve as far as the public interactions are concerned. Privately, Charles and William can decide how often to call or invite for visits.
They seem to be trying to move to financial independence while still complaining that they were cut off financially by the royal family. They still have millions from Diana. This is an unfortunate situation and hope it can be resolved but who knows if it can be. Hope not but It could get ugly. How Gayle King, who seems to be a friend, can be an objective journalist on this is beyond me.
I don’t think she will abdicate. She made a solemn vow to serve her people as long as she lives. Makes no sense to me, but she’s pretty much been retired during Covid anyway besides video visits to charities.
My sense is Harry and Meghan tried to work it out privately first, but went public when they didn’t get what they wanted from Charles and the Queen (security, military titles)
That’s more about money, not getting what you want. If every adult kid that didn’t get what they wanted could then air their grievances on Oprah, a lot of us would be in trouble!
The UK has a 10 day quarantine requirement for visitors. His grandfather died on April 9 and the funeral is the 17th - wonder how this will work for Harry.
