<p>Duke does not have a ChemE department. I would choose UIUC.
Rice and UT-Austin are good choices, but only if cheaper for you than UIUC.</p>
<p>BP just pledged $500 million to UIUC and Berkeley to jointly run a biosciences research institute…mission is to look at alternative fuels from crops.</p>
<p>You’d be fine with any major at UIUC.</p>
<p>Rice is amazing for oil, its in the middle of Houston, the energy capital of the US. All majors get recruited heavily by Exxon, Shell, BP and the like. And UT-Austin has the best petro e program in the country, along with stanford. and Oil isn’t a bad thing</p>
