Good point, xiggi.

“Resigning with immediate effect would have spared the trustees the need to ask Paterno to call in to hear his fate.”

Completely agree. Paterno wanted to leave on his own terms at the end. A truly remorseful man would have resigned effective immediately. To their credit, The Board of Trustees took control and reafirmed who is really in control of the university.

Penn State students are only making the situation much worse imho…

[Penn State students RIOT in support of child rape enabler - YouTube](<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube)

It’s truly sad to see these ‘bright’ young kids severely brainwashed! Do they even realize that what was reported to Joe Paterno was described as “horseplay,” and yet he decided not to report to the police. He chose to preserve his prized football program over the safety of a child. Had he done what he was supposed to do, he could have stopped many more children from being molested, but he did not! This is a major failure for any person, let alone JoePa who serves as a role model for the entire Penn State community. Talk about major fall in terms of basic human decency and moral values, not to mention the obligation to protect the disadvantage children. Paterno and his followers must understand that the consequence and the disastrous impact of allowing serial rapist to roam free on campus ground and victimizes the children for decades is a trillion times greater than any football program or as stupid as it sounds, winning this Saturday’s game against Nebraska.

I sincerely hope that is not true. THIS is beyond sickening and I am speechless at the moment!!..

^^^WOW! If this is true, the program needs to be shut down.

Colin Cowherd of ESPN said earlier that the average male sexual predator has “107” victims!! lol

This is how I feel about the whole scandal,
http://img.chan4chan.com/img/2009-04-17/1239991903187.gif

Yes, if true, Second Mile should be shutdown.

^^ Indeed. But the main issue here is, as many in other forums have speculated that some of the money might have been funneled directly to its football program or the university itself, not just Second Mile Foundation.

Anyway, the words on the street is that Nebraska regent fears for players safety after seeing the riot footage last night over at State College, the Plan B currently in place is to forfeit the game as many more husker fans want to boycott the game.

Also, it seems that NCAA has decided to change its stand on dealing with the Penn State scandal pending on the investigation.

[President Emmerts statement on Penn State - NCAA.org](http://www.ncaa.org/wps/wcm/connect/public/ncaa/resources/latest+news/2011/november/president+emmerts+statement+on+penn+state)

^ Why would Penn State fans beat up Nebraska fans/players over this? Nervous nellies…

Oh heck, we’ve done that for years. Just for fun, and is a nice change from pounding on each other! Happy Valley is a long way from the city, ya know.

I’ve no doubt Colin Cowherd and ESPN are the go-to guy and source when in need of reliable research on sexual predation. I’d heard it was 73.6 persons. Who to believe! That’s about the only thing humorous about this scenario. He’d be lucky if he could spell it.

'Tis an ugly mess, but anyone wanting to begin to study the concept and reality of mass hysteria ought to read these forums and threads.

I agree with this writer!

I am glad that the NCAA will be waiting out the justice system to see what kind of infractions that PSU might have incurred. It leaves them free to continue to investigate the neferious activities that have been going on in Columbus:

Looks like the end is NOT near for the Buckeye faithful.

^^ Thanks for the update, rjk!!

We have already lost our winning Coach, and we are not even ranked in the Top-25 this year on both polls. So, I am really indifference on what happens next. Even if we get the death penalty from NCAA (which we won’t), I am fine (so long as it is justifiable). As much as I am a buckeye fanatic, I would be glad to trade our Top-25 football ranking with Top-25 academic ranking anytime!! ;)

“I would be glad to trade our Top-25 football ranking with Top-25 academic ranking anytime!!”

Trust me you won’t have to trade. Top 25 football for TOSU is attainable again soon enough. Top 25 academic ranking? That’s a long, long way off.

“Top 25 academic ranking? That’s a long, long way off.”

Perhaps, but I don’t really consider TOSU that far off from public schools such as UNC, UVA or even UCLA academically; especially with the current upswing momentum under the leadership of President Gee. Gee is scheduled to retire from TOSU by 2017, and I would give it a few more years of contract extension = 2020 the latest. Under his ambitious plan as I’ve alluded in other threads, I do firmly believe that TOSU can and will achieve the status of “Top University.” In fact, the school’s Phase I ($2.5 billion investment) progress was pegged against University of Michigan imho. In addition, Phase II ($5.0 billion) will initiate next year - all the way to around 2016, and Phase III ($2.5 billion supplemental) til his ultimate retirement. I can almost assure you that any school currently ranked around 50s on USNWR will jump a few dozen spots if $10 billion is pumped into that particular institution within a decade with or without Sasaki’s Master Plan.

Just be patient, and watch my prophecy comes true! :)

Note: Part of Phase II, hire a few hundred more faculties. (Does it sound familiar?)

But, TOSU will launch in a much greater scale, since we are playing catch-up, right?

Anyway, I can’t give all the trade secrets out!! So, just wait and see, ok? :p

P.S. This is the wrong thread to discuss TOSU on the rise!! lol

^^^I guess he isn’t interested in Ohio State either.

^^Perhaps? We will never know since TOSU has not sought him for the job. Despite the recent turmoil and setback, young coach Fickell seems to be doing a decent job?! And his salary is the equivalent of an assistant coach at Michigan. ;)

[Penn State sex-abuse scandal spreads to Texas - latimes.com](<a href=“Archive blogs”>Penn State sex-abuse scandal spreads to Texas)

I don’t think Sandusky stands a chance in Texas!! By all means, send him to Texas for trial. Their governor straps a laser-sighted gun to his arm and shoots coyotes on his morning jogs. Talk about capital punishment, death by lethal injection… lol
