I attempted my first SAT in Jan 2015, and got an average score of 1830 on it. I was terribly disappointed and worked tirelessly to score more. I took my SAT 2nd attempt this October, and scored 2160! I was overwhelmed with a 330 point improvement!
It got me wondering whats the greatest improvement from one attempt to another. Share your stories!
I, too, scored 1830 on my first SAT and improved to 2080 after a month of solid prep. Am expecting my latest results which should come out pretty soon. Im hoping for it to be around 2200
I scored 1940 on my first SAT in June and 2020 on my second SAT in October. My scores were 750 CR, 610 M, and 660 W. I could never bring myself to study for the SAT until the day before, but this time I’m going to destroy this test.
How did you feel after you took that 2nd SAT? Could you feel the improvement or was it still a surprise?
I took the June 6 SAT and the October 3 SAT.
I think that the June 6 Collegeboard screw up must have impacted scores, because I went from a 1970 to a 2180 with no additional studying.
I’ll be taking another test in December, hoping to raise my math score. Good luck everyone!
Yeah, the June SAT test was SERIOUSLY messed up. I took the crappy June test and got 2060 on it. I couldn’t believe what I saw because I got 210 on my PSAT eight months ago. So I retook the SAT on October and got 2230 without studying anything.
@crawleytownfc: err unless you’ve been scoring 2200+ on practice tests, don’t get your hopes up…I did, and my self-confidence was completely destroyed by my actual results…
I took the sat in January of last year and I scored a 1960, but this October I scored a 2320 :]. I took it a total of 4 times, but I’m only submitting my last sitting of 2320. It’s all about luck man; I don’t feel any smarter than I did when I first took it. (770 CR 800 M 750 W). Writing is so jank; I only missed 2 and I scored a 750. I also hated the reading section originally, but now it’s my favorite section haha.
@JuicyMango I only scored 2200 once in the countless number of practice tests I have done, scoring around 2150-2180. I just got my results today, and got 2200 so there you go…
@crawleytownfc: Congrats on your score! I’m surprised because most of my friends scored lower on the actual test than they did on practice tests. But I guess you are an exception :P.
I could feel the improvement big time @Darknesz215 ! But i was expecting 2200. Nonetheless, I was very contented.
