Bikes???

Is it customary to bring bikes to campus? Is it allowed? Is it helpful?

Thanks!

I'd love to know, too. I know bikes aren't too useful on campuses where I live (due to snow), but it might be different in Florida.

haha im dying to know as well as i might be without a car till January (so i can scope the scene out and get familiar with the area). I been reading lonely planet and they say that Coral gables and Coconut grove are great places to bike as their areas full of trees covering the small roads and crosses rivers and eventually reaches oceans :D
I guess the biking scene is nice although it may be too hot sometimes (I.E August) to bike. What i dont know is how many ppl on campus carry bikes and stuff. if u go on facebook they have a freshman with cars thread and in it, i saw roughly 50 posts of ppl saying their bringing their cars. lets hope the rest are all biking :D

Some kids do have bikes, but it is not one of those campuses where the majority of kids are biking. There are bike racks located around campus. Here are a couple of links you might be interested in.

Acarta-There will be many kids, especially freshmen, without cars. S and roommate did not have cars freshmen year and were just fine. You won't have any problem.

I've only seen two people on bikes these last two semesters...... walking to classes is really not far enough to warrant using a bike...... there are tons of people (not tons, but you get my point) on skate boards though...

i know quite a few ppl who ride their bikes...i personally find it easier to walk, but my roommate swears by her bike
