Biking and other questions

Is it possible to manage without having a bike at UC Davis?

Are scooters (not motorized) acceptable on campus?

Has anyone from this year applied to the Davis Honors Challenge?

Where are you supposed to accept your Regents Scholarship if you got one?

It is possible, I know people who do it but it is slower and a bit of an inconvenience. That said a lot of people started freshmen being pretty inexperienced bikers and were fine, so don’t let a fear of riding stop you from getting a bike. Long board are probably the most common alternative, and scooters are perfectly allowed but I don’t see them very often

I don’t have much of an opinion on the honors challenge, some of the seminars seem kinda interesting, but besides that I don’t think its super important. I think the regents alone on a resume helps a lot with getting interviews etc.

Yes, you do need to accept it at some point, I don’t THINK the deadline is that early, but check.

Yep, it’s possible to get by without a bike, though I wouldn’t recommend taking two classes back to back that are on different sides of the campus if you’re not going to be biking or bringing other modes of transportation such as long boards, scooters, or roller shoes. It’s near impossible to get from one class near the MU (such as in the SocSci building) to another class near the Silo (such as Giedt Hall) in 10 minutes and get a good seat in the front, unless you’re satisfied with sitting in the back.
