Hi
My son applied to UMD by the Nov. 1 deadline. He just received an email that said "Your University of Maryland Billing Statement is ready." Does anyone know what this means? We checked our credit card statement and the application fee was billed back in October and not refunded. Thanks. I am hoping it's a good sign...

I got the same email (although I’m not sure if my fee was refunded [which it should be, I think, because I’m a NMSF]) and am also curious about what it implies, if anything.

My son is NMSF, too. I was not aware that this would cause them to refund the application fee though.

Says on website: “The university will waive the application fee for freshmen applicants who are National Merit, National Achievement, or National Hispanic Scholar finalists or semifinalists, and Maryland Distinguished Scholar finalists, semifinalist s, or honorable mention recipients.”

That’s so interesting because the link that we used says the fee is $65 and doesn’t mention the NMS waiver…

Today we got a statement from the Bursar’s office saying that we had a credit on our account for $65 (the application fee). I’m not sure why, but I’m guessing NMS. We’ll take it :)
