binders vs folders?

Just want to take a poll.

I personally swear by folders; with binders my backpack took the form of a tornado aftermath

But apparently this isn't normal and binders are the "way to go" LOL.
Your thoughts?

Honestly, I stick papers in notebooks and books and occasionally just throw them in my backback. Maybe my disorganization is the reason I don’t excel to my maximum potential. This vice will be the death of me.

If I had to choose between the two, I would choose folders. I think that having papers and work for all classes in one ‘super-binder’ is somewhat confusing, and having smaller folders to seperate work and classify it directly with the class is much easier.

Folders. Plastic ftw. Even though it’s destroying the environment.

Notebooks are so much better!

Folders…binders make noise during class and I can’t stand it

Uh, both: Binders is for those classes that have ALOT of paper (LIKE English)
I like to use a strong strudy (not those weak ones) folder for my homework.

I started out this year thinking: “I’m going to be so organized! This binder is for notes in these 3 classes, this folder is for homework from those same 3 classes, and I have another binder and folder for my other classes.”

Lolno. I had everything stuffed into one binder, sometimes locked in but other times just shoved in, before the end of first quarter.

Whatever. I have my own system of organized chaos. Real organization never works out for me.

Because I have my neat freak moments, I have a different binder for each academic subject. I also don’t want to drag home more crap than I have to, so I also have a different sturdy (color coordinated lol) folder for each academic subject. That way I keep all my notes, homework, etc for the year in the binder, and I just take home that day’s notes and HW in the folder each night. When tests and finals roll around I end up dragging home five huge binders, but … for the most part, I like my system :)

Plastic folders colored coded with the notebook for each class!
I hate having to get up and use the hole punch EVERY time we get something in class and most of my classes don’t even have one. And I don’t really want to carry one around.
Plus, the folders are SO much lighter.

Both? I use an expandable folder for current notes, worksheets, and assignments. After I’m done with a particular topic or chapter, I’ll take the papers out and put them in binders.

(Although most of the time, they just get taken out and put in a pile on my bedroom floor.)

iPad

/thatguy

I use a binder with the ‘semi transparent tabbed divider pouch things’ (I tried to describe that well so you guys could know what I’m talking about.) But overall it works well and I’ve used it since 7th grade. (well different binder and dividers but same system)

I put everything into one folder. I’m always at peace because I know everything is in that ONE folder. Lol.

@Bookworm934 I have a similar system, with 1 binder (we call them folders/ringbinders here) that stays with me all the time, and 9 at home for every subject. Once we finish a topic in class and no longer need the old notes for lessons, they get moved to the binders at home. Things always seem to get lost or scrunched up in folders, so I don’t use them.

@UKgirl23, I know! Isn’t it so much easier to leave all the pounds of papers you don’t need at school or home? I love it!

… or I’m just lazy XD

I like to keep a folder with many “pockets” for homework, and I use different binders for notes in each class…

Folders. Always.

1) Lighter on the back
2) Don’t have to worry about not having reinforcements
3) Don’t have to worry about making that “snap” noise every time I want to take something out
4) Cheaper

I’m much more organized than I was in middle school when they /forced/ us to use binders.

My high school forces us to use binders for our core classes, which is hard since I have 4 honors core classes this semester! My back is pretty much thrown out for this year and I was distraught when I found out that my new messenger wouldn’t hold all of my binders (which are 1.5 inch each)

I would love folders if my school let me use them, but I love binders for the organization (with the help of dividers).

Neither. Papers go into my backpack and then to the trash.

The luxuries of being a senior

Binder. I have way too much fun trapping my pencil in the mental rings. Plus, it’s easier to use them as a hard surface for writing when you’re on the go.
