Binge watched tv shows

Another thumbs-up for “Unbelievable”! I agree that the first episode was tough, but I loved it overall. Loved the grittiness of Toni Collete. Loved the character played by Merritt Wever (especially loved how her Christianity seemed real, not overly pious or trite). And I loved how Marie was vindicated at the end.

Mostly, I loved how it told a gripping, infuriating story with a strong female cast.

Oh, my gosh, I liked “Unbelievable” so much that I wanted the entire series today! Incredible acting and story. It sounds like they really stuck to the facts of the case pretty closely. Wow.

DH and I watched the first episode of “Modern Love” and liked it a lot. We didn’t think it was weak at all.

I finished The Politician tonight. I find it…interesting. It’s a little odd - and sort of fantasy - not believable - but I love Ben Platt so much he carries the series through for me. Also loved Gwyneth Paltrow in her role.

Wonder when season 2 comes out?

Now I can start something new - probably Modern Love.

“Jack Ryan”!! I don’t think I’ve seen anyone mention it. It’s great.

I like “Jack Ryan” a lot, but the final episode was a little more unbelievable than usual.

DH and I didn’t like the fourth episode of “Modern Love” too much. We thought we would, since we like Tina Fey and John Slattery, but we didn’t think the acting or writing was very good. Oh, well.

I found an article that ranks all the “Modern Love” episodes. This critic ranked the first three episodes #1, 2, and 3.

Watched the entire second season of The Kominsky Method in two nights—finished most episodes the first night. Alan Arkin is hilarious this season.

The new season of Shameless has started. I miss Fiona!!!

Started SEE (Apple Tv starring Jason Momoa and Alfre Woodard. I’m into it enough to keep watching but whoa, some crazy stuff going on.

Did I just hear Ray Donovan is back tomorrow night?

^^^ yes, it is!

I read a New Yorker piece about 9-1-1 so my son and I have been watching it. Okay, competency porn it is but it moves right along. And can I say that I love Connie Britton?

Just finished up Season 1 of Mindhunter on Netflix and starting season 2. It is about the birth of understanding and profiling serial killers at Quantico in the 70’s . The acting is on point. It is creepy, amusing, odd and wonderful. A big part of the show is interviewing jailed serial killers - Son if Sam, Ed Kemper etc - fascinating and scary.

The Crown Season 3 is released today!

I’ve been enjoying the new season of The Crown! I have only two episodes to go. :frowning:

Someone on Facebook suggested “A French Village,” a series about an occupied village in France during WWII. It has subtitles but it looks really good. DH and I want to do a tour of Normandy and northern France sometime soon, so I think we will watch the series.

A French village is awesome. I hope to buy the full set some day. And while sometimes you’ll roll your eyes… everything is in fact true (although not everything happened in the same county seat). That time just led to lots of eye-rolling-for-peacetime moments and realize they’re in wartime, with everything high stakes and at the same time mundane daily life, just filled with insane choices. Everything was reviewed by historians; the period details are excellent. The characters - many you root for but even when you don’t, you can always understand them. And it’s the serial equivalent of unputdownable. (Beware of the binging ?).

I finished Season 3 of The Crown I did not like it at all; Princess Margaret was portrayed as a sex crazed, washed up alcoholic, and the Queen (Olivia Colman was a poor choice imo) came across as a cold-hearted b* Very disappointed.

Can everyone please list where they are watching their shows? Where is “a French Village” streaming from?

I started with “His Dark Materials” on HBO. I really like it. It was funny and delightful to see some old HBO actors, like the man who played Lester Freeman on The Wire. Other people look familiar but I can’t place them. So far, so good!

TIP: I usually check the JustWatch website to see where the movies and programs are streaming.

@greenwitch A French Village is on Amazon Prime.

Binged on season 2 of Kominsky Method. Wonderful. If you liked season 1, season 2 will only make you like this series more.
