Binghamton Class Profile

Since I am seeing many threads about people asking about their chances to get into Binghamton, I figured I would post Bing's class profile to give everyone a better idea of what they expect.

Class Profile incoming freshmen 2007-2008

Total # of freshman applications: 25,243

of freshmen enrolled: 2,218

Average SAT score: 1266 (1190-1340)
Average ACT score: 28 (Range: 26-31)
Top 10% of high school class: 49 percent
Top 25% of high school class: 85 percent

Incoming transfers 2007-2008

Total # of transfer applications: 3,598

of transfers enrolled: 813

Transfer GPA: 3.3 out of 4.0

If anyone has any questions, I can be of some help. I graduated from Bing this past May with a degree from Harpur College.

i think it is also very important to consider the fact that as it is, admissions has been getting increasingly competitive each year. http://admissions.binghamton.edu/measureofexcellence.pdf and see this regarding class of 2012 Binghamton University - News and Events: Inside: News and Notes

add to that the fact that they had more people accept admissions for this fall than they expected leading to overcrowding. plus the fact that the state of the economy probably means a lot more people will be looking at SUNY's in general.

all together, and i think those stats for 2007-08 entering class should just be thought of as a starting point, with admissions likely going to be even harder this year.
