Binghamton Early Action class of 2018 thread!

Gina in admissions said ALL emails

Can log into here, https://secure.binghamton.edu/qpLogin/login.jsp</a>, and make a payment but I can’t log into here, https://secure.binghamton.edu/newadmit/loginform.jsp</a>

What does that mean?

Jc8367 from past posts it seems like those who are not eligible to pay on that second link have not received acceptances. Most likely we will get deferrals today (hopefully no rejections!)

Mail came… Nothing. Hope emails come earlier than 10 or 11 pm.

My D got an email this morning, accepted into Watson. Did not get snail mail yet. Keep your heads up!

CBMom, did you try calling the admissions office? You wouldn’t expect to get anything in the mail today since it apparently takes two days to get mail downstate which is why the letters which were sent out Friday were received yesterday. Since the office was presumably closed on Saturday, you wouldn’t get a letter until tomorrow. I also hope that my son gets an email today and I agree that the best we can probably hope for now is a deferral.

Mail came. Nothing from Binghamton today.

Still waiting for news. Hopefully an email.

Since I think we are all preparing for a deferral; might I ask you, the parents, what do you plan to do to “up your edges”?

Has anyone been accepted into CCPA?

Im not sure… This is my first child going to college (my son worked right out of high school) and I have no clue what to do. Do we send first semester grades? Her weighted gpa was over 100 so thats good
Do you have any suggestions?
Im still nervous if shes even getting deferred.

I would say to send first semester grades if they are good and to retake the SAT or ACT if the test scores were the problem. In my son’s case, his ACT was a 28 which is enough for Binghamton but his junior year grades brought his GPA down as he started a business that year and didn’t put enough effort into his schoolwork. He has been doing much better this year and I sent first quarter grades (3.6 UW including two college classes and 3 APs) but I think it was too little too late. If he is deferred, I guess we will send second quarter grades too.

I guess she could take ACT … She took
SAT twice and scores basically stayed same.

Hi! I couldn’t log in pay your deposit and I haven’t received mail or emaip from Binghamton yet. I’m getting nervous because it is one of my top choices. Here are my stats though:

1920 SAT
29 ACT
3.7 UW GPA (couldve been higher but I studied freshman and sophomore year in the Philippines and the grading system was quite intense, I had a 4.0 junior year)
Great E C’s ( achievements and leadership experience from both Philippines and America + jobs from the healthcare field)
Youngest graduate in my batch (I am 15 right now but will be 16 by April)
In state and my mom’s an alumna

Really hope I hear back from them . . . I’d feel bad if I get deferred. But still, hoping for the best.

Mail came, no letters today, sorta worried, does Anyone know if that means not accepted? I heard a kid 10 minutes from my house got an acceptance letter yesterday.

I didn’t receive anything in the mail either today

I got accepted, but still haven’t gotten a letter in the mail, so don’t worry. I think it depends on where u live

xoxodmg… how do you know you got accepted?

No email or letter in the mail.

My stats:
93/100 unweighted GPA
3 APs
fairly rigorous courseload
stong essay & recommendation
many EC’s, one that particularly sticks out
everything is up to par except my SAT & ACT.
SAT 1610, i took it once junior, didnt study and blew it
ACT 25, same thing

All of my friends have received their acceptance letters or emails and I haven’t gotten anything. I’m certain I’m going to be deferred, but in the long run do you think they can look past my standardized tests and see that I’m a great student everywhere else?

Just got email… Deferred

I got an email last night:
