I can also access CBMOM’s first link, however not the second link.
Honestly I was quite confident about my application, not absolutely positive I was getting in, but I was pretty confident. This whole confusion, has placed a lot of doubt in my mind however; causing me to immediately blame my SAT scores.

Assuming that your stats are better than mine, and you aren’t able to log in is putting a little bit more hope back into my heart.

-Also, while doing some research to past EA decisions. It seems that Bing, tends to do the Harpur Undeclared first (which seems to be a trend - for the most part- today), then everything else after. In addition, this “back door” system of trying to see for an acceptance, is not 100% accurate. People have been accepted, without being able to log in “early” before.

Ill have to take a look at last years posts. Im harper undeclared so its hard to say if they do harper first or not. I was hoping the last name thing was the issue, but if yours is a B like your username kinda says then it does not mean anything. I am very confident about getting in unless of course Binghamton decided this was the year to lower their acceptance rate

Also would like to add that im perplexed they have not sent an email out yet saying when they will send decisions. Cornell sent an email a week before saying when, but thats cornell so im very unsure

jbryant,
His last name starts with a G.
Long Island. Great public school. Does not rank.
Low GPA (3.2) but sent first quarter grades which were a 3.6.
28 ACT
Great recommendations including from his principal.
Killer essay.
Lots of EC including volunteer work, a job and several leadership positions

@jrok My last name actually starts with a P. (Two last names, joined together with a hyphen) lol.
I’m hoping last name is an issue.

@lilaw88 Well considering the amount of applications that the school has to go through, I’m hoping that the last name will be the issue. We always have from now until Wednesday. Are you aware of the school he applied to?
I’m just trying to think of possible ideas.

@nervoussenior What are your stats by any chance?

Ok I think the last name is the issue then, cant really think of why else. From reading all the posts here, they may have only processed last names up to the mid-alphabet. Anyone not eligible and below mid-alphabet may just not have gotten in. This is just a theory to calm some worries, although I realize it may also cause worry.

jbryant, he applied to Harpur. Forgot to mention that he will have taken 6 AP courses by the end of the year and also earned 12 credits through Farmingdale (B - B+) and 3 from Stony Brook (A). He has already gotten into Oneonta and Albany

@jrok Well it’s calming my nerves a little bit, since no one can attest otherwise. May I ask, what are your stats - you seem confident, I’m hoping I can use your stats as a gauge.

@nervous hopefully. Their said date was January 15, 2014; until further notice everything else is just speculation.

It would be hard to gauge using my stats considering everyone from my school (over the years) has gotten in to Binghamton as long as they had at least a 3.00 and 1750 sat’s. So my gpa would confuse you, not help you. My ACT though was a 30, which I say is the equivalent to a 2000 on the SAT

@jrok
Well using the stats of your school, I’d say that I cleared the bar - noting that my SAT was exactly 1750.

@CBMOM hang in there! I am trying my best to stay optimistic as well, however my natural instinct to over-analyze is not making that task simple. We all may just be over thinking it, since it’s only the first day (moreover first couple of hours).

We have about 4 more days to really wait for it. I like to think about it like this, we’re not late - they are just simply early. :)

Just another thought - my son submitted his application in October and all supporting documents were supposed to be received by 12/2 but on my son’s page, it says that his transcript was not received until 12/10. Wonder if that could delay his decision

We’ll have to look into it, maybe others can agree with you. I’ll just do some more waiting, keeping my fingers crossed. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE, I’m sure you are all deserving.

not gonna lie… not feeling very optimistic. looked back at that thread from last year and all those that were not able to log in were deferred to RD.

I havent posted my daughters stats, its her SAT scores that were definitely the problem. She had SS of 1670 (600M, 520CR and 550W) damn SATs LOL

her weighted GPA is 96.47,
top 7%,
5APs,
all honors classes (high honors? shes in scholars program at her school)
rigorous curriculum
took Latin for 2 years
National Honor Society
ECs (competitive dancer for 12 years)
She also sent in a special talent review (dance) to hopefully boost her chances.
so i’m feeling not so good about it at this point. told her last night. she is sad, but she has the attitude that things happen for a reason. i’m sure once the email comes and its not an acceptance there will be some tears but it will all work out in the end.

CBMOM22 - they are very very picky for early action but if your daughter doesnt get into Bing via early action she will be deferrred to the regular decision. My son had this and even went on the fall waitlist (spring offer). Ultimately he is now at Binghamton (he was taken off the waitlist and in the fall semester! ) so while it took a lot longer than expected, he got in.
