@kabayev1 Its different. Admission for Spring 2015 means your definitely in for 2015 but Waitlist you just have to wait for an available seat.

Yeah mine says “Fall wait list- spring offer” so… i can go in the spring no matter what?

Should be, double-check and call to be sure though. And their really nice so they’ll help you.

yes! you are IN for spring

I didn’t get an email nor a letter in the mail, only “wait list” on my status checker. Did this happen to anyone else? Also, is wait list better/worse than spring admit?

Wait list means you still have a chance at getting in, if they end up with enough spots available. It’s different from the spring admittance because they’re guaranteed to be in for the spring whereas I think that’s not the case for you unfortunately

i got waitlisted today but i’m accepted for the spring semester of 2015.

We had so many talented students like you apply this year that we simply do not have room for everyone in the fall. However, we are still very much interested in you, so we are pleased to offer you admission to Binghamton University’s Harpur College of Arts and Sciences for Spring 2015.
Congratulations! Your application demonstrates significant accomplishments, gifts and contributions. Therefore, you’re the one we want at Binghamton, and we do not want to lose you due to available space in the fall. You will remain on our unranked waitlist for the fall, but we are pleased to offer you the opportunity to join many other talented students at Binghamton who will begin their studies in Spring 2015. Should a space open for fall, we will notify you immediately.

In the next few days you will receive your official admissions packet that includes instructions on how to reserve your place for the Spring 2015 semester

@nishi25 I think what you may not have understood or wasnt told is that you have to keep a 3.2 GPA at suny broome in order to really be “accepted/enrolled” to binghamton. because you would be taking classes there. it’s pretty much like a transfer from community college to binghamton, provided that you meet the gpa requirement. only “good” part is that you are “treated” like a binghamton student, I guess to put it simply . you’d be able to be on binghamton campus, join clubs there, use facilities, dine and dorm (I think) and etc. if you don’t meet the GPA requirement then you’ll have to apply to different college or university or continue taking classes at broome, depending how long you’d have to stay, then eventually transfer to wherever

@xpurplex : Yeah /: I understand. I think Im at a better shot if I just reapply there as a transfer and go to University at Buffalo as an EOP.

sounds like something I would do as well, even if binghamton were to be my top choice. never know what could happen during the year to have effect on your GPA. so looks safe to choose buffalo. on the plus side, both are very great schools. what do you plan on majoring in by the way? and is the eop program required throughout all four years? or do you have to keep a minimum GPA or somehing else?

Binghamton & Buffalo both have my major choice in Biology (idk exactly what I want to do rn) and possible choice in business. The awesome thing is, since Buffalo accepted me for EOP, I remain as an EOP candidate, that doesn’t get taken away. So lets say I do try transferring to Stony or even Binghamton, Im still an EOP candidate and don’t have to pay tuition.

@Nishi25 You said you got Bing Adv. Why not do that? There is no transfer or uncertainty involved. You are in Bing, just with some strings attached in the 1st year.

EOP is a very good program for eligible students, and @Nishi25, I understand why you want to go to Buffalo in that program. Congratulations!

@mrwho123 Again, its not just a matter of me getting accepted, there’s also that financial kick. I’d rather be somewhere I can afford and do well in rather than somewhere substantial that’ll put me in debt for the couple of years I’ll already be graduated. I can’t say anything for sure though, Bing office opens tomorrow. I’ll talk to them & see if I can arrange something else. @oldmom4896: Thank you (:

I got accepted to Binghamton EOP around mid march. GPA: 89 (as of junior year), SAT: 1490, ACT: 23, a lot of extracurricular (with leadership), internships

Has anyone talked to Bing about the wait list priorities, timing and chances? Also, what is an unranked wait list? In order to let anyone in they need to put people in a queue in some order.
