I know Binghamton is ranked higher but is it that much better than Fordham given the fact Fordham is located near the city? I'm trying to transfer from Seton Hall's business school and was rejected by Cornell (waiting on NYU and Columbia) and have been accepted into Binghamton and Fordham. I visited Fordham and its beautiful but I've noticed its rank has been decreasing. Binghamton is farther away and I plan to hopefully visit this weekend. Thanks.
BTW: I'm a dual major with business management and finance. Im also currently on my last semester as a sophomore. Thanks.

Where are you getting your rankings from.
USNWR shows Binghamton is #86 and Fordham is #56.

I think s/he was referring to business school rankings. Bing = 37 Fordham = 52

They’re both fine. Go to the school that you will think you will be most happy, academically and socially.

Don’t get hung up that Bing is not a great locale. It’s just two years of your life.

I don’t think recruiters care if Binghamton is # this, and Fordham is # that.

Both are similar. Go to the one you like best. I would pick Binghamton

Do Binghamton. You get the actual campus and college experience. I transferred from FU and didnt love it at all

Do Fordham. They just got a huge new business renovation for a new school of business, the gabelli school of business. Their grads also make over 60k as a starting salary. It’s much more fun than Binghamton too. If you are tight on cash then do Binghamton. Otherwise go Fordham.

Do Binghamton. I got accepted by Fordham but rejected by Binghamton. Bing is cheaper and has a higher standard for admissions. Bing is also a top feeder school for the Big 4 firms and the site says 95% of the accounting majors got a job there. Fordham also has a 5% annual tuition raise so that’s about 2K + a year. I will be attending Baruch this fall, but planning to transfer to Bing’s SOM

Fordham does give a lot of aid and merit money though.

You’re wrong re: the salary point Chriszeoli. I’m not sure your source on the statistic you cited, but according to [Best Northeastern Colleges in the US By Salary Potential](Payscale Best Schools by Salary Potential), median starting salary for SUNY Binghamton is $49,700, but median starting salary for Fordham is $45,100. It’s true that Fordham has a higher mid-career median salary than Binghamton, but that could indicate Fordham’s graduates are waning and Binghamton’s are waxing.

Binghamton’s SOM. You will learn A LOT. Great professors I hear. Plus, great social life. Recruits come to binghamton all the time during job fairs.
