Bio 105/106? Hard?

Is 105/106 (autotutorial) harder than the regular track?

Opinions.

This is for pre-med, by the way.

you think you're a significantly stronger student than most Cornellians, why worry?

id suggest u take it rather than lecture + bio lab.

I've heard bad things about the lecture + lab track. I imagine the material isn't much different....it's just a matter of self-motivation.

mostly lab part. theres always these people who studies 24/7 to get that A, therefore pushing those who don't study 24/7 down there. this guy in my lab said he only SKIMMED the chapter. then he took it out it was completely covered in notes. and i mean COMPLETELY lol,

my lab TA said this years lab students are much smarter than last years, at least her class, she said avg went up over 10 points compared to last year. i assume class 2012 will have similar #s.

idk why ur worried about intro bio class....i thought u were superior to everyone else at cornell?

yeah...I also thought you were leaving Cornell.

But I guess it's good to make a plan B....

I just talked to a friend of mine....and she recommends 105-106 over 101-102

It's about the same because it's the same class, just taught different ways.

Well, the alternative to transferring to a more prestigous school is to transfer into a tougher major. I can just imagine muerteapablo at his med school interviews:

Interviewer: So, why medicine?
Muertapablo: Well, you see I was much smarter than everyone else in my classes at Cornell and wanted to transfer to Harvard. But, since Harvard stopped accepting transfer applicants, I switched into harder classes.
Interviewer: That's a very unique reason. Most people talk about wanting to help people or being fascinated by science.
Muertapablo: Yep. Guess that acceptance is in the mail, heh?

^hahaah thats so funny

Thanks for the info.
It's for the plan B (morning after kind of thing, you know).

Of course, as gomestar intimated, I'm academically infallible, so whatevs.

Gomestar: that was a joke.

Bio 105 is an absolute joke. Anyone can get an A+ easily, it's pathetic.

I've heard a it's a mixed bag depending on learning styles, so the judgment seems a personal one.

It's not hard; just a major pain in the ass
