Bio 1B midterm

My GSI just told us that the average for the first midterm was 76. He hasn't posted our scores yet but I thought that Bio 1B usually had a higher average than that...

that sounds about right for the first midterm (Feldman)

Feldman’s midterm is the hardest. Last year the average was about 80 and the year before it was 75.

Slatkin/Huelsenbeck always gave the easiest tests of the three spring professors, but now Moritz has replaced them. Just an FYI, I had a Moritz for IB 160 last semester, and his midterm was the hardest of the three for that class; I would envision that his Bio 1B test would be fairly difficult, so study hard for it.

If I recall correctly, Resh’s average should be around 80%.

Bio 1B professors appear to be in the process of being reshuffled. Apparently for fall, the only professor determined is Moritz again

for carlssson plants last fall, the avg was around 77-so that sounds right

My friend who took Carlson said that his average was more like ~85. So the average is a 76 and no curve? Total BS! Bio 1A had like a 60-70 something average and there was a pretty nice curve IMO.

It’ll end up being curved if like <10% of people are in the A range towards the end. They always make it fit the expected grade distributions even if they say they don’t curve.
