I'm currently taking bio 150 to get it out of the way so I can take the upper level bio courses 2nd semester, but should i take 202 and 203 in the same semester? I'm skipping chem 131 and 132 due to ap chem credit. thanks

you dont need 150 to get into 200 lvl bio courses

it would be a lot of work to take both 202 and 203 in the same semester bc you also need the labs [204 and 205]. and the labs are a one year sequence... 204 is only offered in the fall and 205 only in the spring.

oo wow...but how come it says bio 150 is a prereq for bio 202 203 and 208?
do we just not need to take it?

bio 150 is only a pre-req for 200lvl bios if you scored low on the math assessment. to be sure you should ask an advisor.

Am I exempt from the lab sequences (204 and 205) since I took 201 and 202 before Fall 2007? Should I be taking 204 right now? Im a sophmore transfer and I had credit for 201/202

yea. i think you are. [if you took 2 out of the 3 bios before the fall, then you dont have to take the labs].

ah thnx, i just switched into bio 202....thnx so much for your help

I am in BIO 202. Is Bio 202 w/ MAT 126, CHE 131 & 133, WRT 101, and SSO a bad combo?

if you have some background of sciences like AP in high school, it should not be so hard. But remember it's a lot of work and more in depth. If you manage your time, it should be fine. (Bio 202, Che 131 & 133).

Well I know what you mean by hard work. For the past 2 wks or so of school, I haven't had a second to relax. I am thinking of dropping molecular bio, but I love the course cause of my previous research experience. It has helped to clarify a lot. Chem seems easy (don't wanna jinx anything), but the hw and LUCID exams are mad time consuming. Calc is ok, but a lot of hw. Recitation I find ot be waste of time in both chem and calc b/c the TAs can't speak english, suck at explaining, and give me more hw and stress. Chem lab seems ok but I find lecture to be time-consuming and the lab seems hard, along w/ lab exams. I also found out that I have my molecular bio final and chem final 30 min apart. Is that bad? Or should I drop it? I spoke to like all the counselors and pre-med advisors and they said to stick w/ it b/c next semester I don't need calc b/c of my AP credit. I just need stats in the future and I'm golden. Please give me some more advice if possible.

blazinyan I am also in Mat 126....are you in the morning lecture? with Brian Weber?

hey, blazinyan im taking a similar schedule except im taking PSY 103 and LDS instead of WRT 101 and SSO. So far the hw doesnt seem too bad but i feel like its gonna get harder later. i just realized my chem 131 final and bio 202 final are in the same day and are 1 hour apart (Dec. 17)! that should be fun.

This is my schedule: Orgo, Physics 121, Calc 126, Psy 103. It seems pretty tough already, even when I dropped the Orgo Lab.

I am doing research so I am getting 3 credits in addition to that for a total of 17.

I have Orgo Rec HW due, Physics HW due, Calc HW due, and Psy reading to catch up on, and Orgo practice problems to do. All by next week. Sucks.

Entity, yes I am in that lecture (MWF 9:30-10:30).

Dumbstruck, are you a freshman? Basically we are in the same boat. It is actually 30 min apart b/c according to Citovskiy's syllabus, Bio ends at 10:30. I feel like I'm the only freshman in that class. I hear Prof Brown is gonna be killer, though I hope not.

Entity, I know how you feel. I want to do research but no time. I mean orgo lab is only 1 semester for those who don't wanna do research, so you can take it in spring. My roommate is in psych. He says its easy, then again he doesn't really study that much. Good luck in orgo. I wish you all the best overall.

i'm a freshman and i have citovskiy MWF from 8:30-9:25 AM and at the bottom of the syllabus, it says the final is from 8-10AM.

Cool man. We should meet. When do you have chem? Also do you have chem lab? Also do we have calc together? Do you live on campus? I live in Roth Quad- Hendrix College.

hehe blazinyan we are in the same class and don't even know each other...that's pretty interesting.....btw thanks for the good wishes, same for you.

I met someone who lives in Brooklyn in that class actually...he is Asian..

Ok I am not Asian, sorry. I am Caucasian though. But if you ever want to find me, I usually sit in the second row. I usually sit near the right end of the row.

Haha, ok...maybe I'll say hello.

Oh, do you sit next to a pretty girl? I remember looking over that way last class LOL. It was by the second row I think.

I think I did on my left side, right. It's interesting that you focus on that stuff when we have a calc quiz this wk. I am just busting your chops. Yes I do. Though yesterday, I was sitting next to 2 or 3 guys on my right end of the row. I am not hard to find. It would be cool and helpful to know each other's names. PM me urs and I'll PM u mine, just to retain secrecy.
