Bio and Chem Classes

Which Bio and Chem (both w/ lab) classes do you take for pre med/science majors? For bio, is it biological sciences lecture and biological sciences lab, or is it introductory bio? For chem, is it intro to general chem, or just general chem?

I'm also going to be taking a FWS and Cal 1. That comes out to 15 hours, but only four classes. I'm thinking that's plenty for first semester, but will only having four classes make me get behind at all?

For Bio you can do either 1101(bio sci lecture)/1103(bio sci lab) OR 1105 (introductory bio) in the fall. 1101/1103 is the traditional lecture/lab; 1105 is the autotutorial lecture/lab.

For Chem, you do 2070 (general chemistry).

No, 15 credit hours is a good amount for 1st semester freshman year. Your schedule is typical for pre med/science majors.

Oh god, no autotutorials for me. I tried that this year with Government. Ended up doing it all the weekbefore it was due. Passed it, but don’t remember a damn thing.

lol not like the stuff you learn in intro bio is of any use later on. its so useless taht cornell is considering to majorly change it

“Passed it, but don’t remember a damn thing.”
yeah that’s how a lot of the classes here work hahaha

I’m confused when you sign up for BIO classes. Are they considered to be part of CAS or/and CALS?

Since apparently at CAS 100/120 credits need to be taken from that college…

Bio is separate. its both CALS and CAS.

Oh cool, so that means the bio classes I take would fulfill “100/120” credits at CAS?

yes, most things you will take in cornell will satisfy your 100/120
