Bio at HM?

I want to do something related to bio at college and since HM is well known in arenas like engineering, physics, math, if HM a good place to do bio? Also, does anyone know about the joint chem and bio program like how hard it is, what you learn, ect?

No wonder your S/N was familiar, I checked out your past posts and we both applied to Wellesley.

I read that you’re interested in premed, run far away from HMC if you really want to go to med school. HMC = GPA killer, ask RocketDA what his GPA is lol. And, GPA is a major factor in premed admissions…

To tell you the truth, I am still deciding if i want to do pre-med. I guess the main question for me right now is if I want to put myself through thousands of dollars of debt, another decade of school, and a sacrifice in personal life to pursure medicine.

If I were to keep my options open and perhaps get a job after undergrad rather than take the med-school route, would harvey mudd provide ample preparation in bio? Or if I go to grad school?

Ha, I personally didn’t even consider going to medical school (medicine is a five-year undergraduate course in my country) because of the sheer amount of study. Makes my brain hurt thinking about it.

For graduate school, Harvey Mudd is great. Though HMC is better in other subjects, there are benefits common across all subjects like: Fantastic teaching, small classes, and widely available research opportunities. Many HMC bio students go on to PhDs, check out this link: [REED COLLEGE PHD PRODUCTIVITY](Doctoral Degree Productivity - Institutional Research - Reed College)

HMC is also excellent at professional placement. Employers worth their salt are ‘in the know’ about the tough grading. RocketDA, a senior at HMC, apparently has ‘job offers coming out his ass’ (quote from anonymous source. lol)
