Bio/biomedical engineering at CMU? (undergrad)

My dad is a professor at CMU, so I could go there for free (if accepted). Obviously there is a lot of incentive for me to go there, but I hear they do not have a bioengineering major per se but that you have to pair it with materials engineering, chem engineering, etc. and I'm really not interested in those other types of engineering.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Is it still a decent program?

Yes, last year, my son was accepted and did not attend, partially for this very reason. Biomedical engineering was only offered as a minor. However, at the biomedical engineering talk during the accepted students weekend, the professor mapped out several paths and did indicate that they were re evaluating whether or not to offer Biomedical engineering as a major in the near furutre. I would talk with a Dean to see where they are in this process.

What aspect of biomedical engineering are you interested in?
