bio major severe stress

bio major severe stressading. Ive always been a happy person and just this semester once I started out with the first class for my major, general biology 1406 for majors, I've been on the verge of tears and stress each day....I'm NOT a stupid girl, I can make 100's in other classes like no ones business and biology SHOULD be as easy as a class in sociology or history, right? Of course theres more info on bio but the memorization factor is the same, you don't have to 'apply' much else at that level.I WANT to keep my major, I LOVE science and I love the material! I want to be a dentist today and recieving such low scores in this majors class is jabbing the knife deeper and deeper with each low score, ill be lucky if I end up with a C in the course.... My final in the class is in a week and what the hell am I to do now?! I need to change somethingin the way I'm studying, but I dont know exactly what...for example, for the last test I studied for a week straight and I ended with a 84 on the test (first two grades were failing) but I thought knew everything on that test!! It seemed the easier questions were the ones I missed. I'm sorry this was long, but I swear to you guys I can't handle this and every time I talk to someone about it ill start tearing up. What can I do to change my ways and what's wrong with me? And yes, numerous peoplw have told me I probably have test anxiety, but I don't want special treatment for it even if its severe I want to break it on my own.

Intro Bio may be considered a weeder course at your school (it is mine, most people either switch out of the Bio major and barely pass the class or drop it altogether.) You won’t make A’s in classes like that.

Wow. You know, I didn’t look at it that way! Thank you for that because ill keep that in mind now. Not sure if its true for my school exactly, but its very possible…I talked to my professor today and he said it gets easier with time and you start developing your study skills over time because its such new and different information. (Haven’t taken bio since freshman year)

mckyle9423 is right according to what I hear. I am warned every time I tell some one that I want to do either physics or math that there are these weed out classes that test your dedication to the major under heavy stress. This sounds like one of them. Do you know how well your classmates are doing? It’s a big alarm sound when at least half of the class is struggling with you.
