Bio Major Wash U, U of Rochester, U of Minn CBS?

I was admitted to Minn CBS, and Wash U and U of Rochester. I want a general biology program as I'm not sure of my concentration. I want to go on to get a Ph.D. in Biology. What school should I pick?

Personally, i chose to go to the U of M because the CBS is very well respected, and seeing as i also want to go on to graduate school, i would rather get my MD/PhD at a school such as Duke (or Wash U in your case) and the money i save in undergraduate can go to that program. So mainly it was a money thing for me.

Yeah, money is a big part of it. Both Wash U and Rochester are giving me a bit of money but Minn still ends up being much more affordable. My parents are willing to help and I had worried about affording graduate school. Then when I attended the U of Minn CBS Dean’s Reception they talked about graduate/Ph.D. students (NOT med students) getting free tuition and a stipend to take classes, do research and TA classes. Also saw something about that at another school also. If I don’t need to pay for graduate school, it makes a BIG difference.
I had hoped to get into the Honors program at Minn to give it a “smaller” feel like Wash U and Rochester, but it’s a no go. I talked to them and even with my stats they only take the top of the top for the honors program.

That sounds pretty much exactly what i got. I got the no go for honors too, and im quite puzzled. But i think the CBS being so tiny (frosh class of 350) will give it a small enough fee. And yeah, i want to get my MD/PhD, and i also got the same info about stipends and stuff. But i still think its better to go to the big name school for graduate work, thats just me. i think ill be able to have a more enjoyable time at a school like minnesota then a school like Duke/Notre Dame/BC, etc. and get better grades while im at it. which all factors into the post grad stuff!
