Bio or Chem for Senior Year? Which Helps More?

For the ones that are in college or finished college, which class helps more for the Pre-Med Requierements? I can only take one next year, and want to take the one that will help me more for college.

I see that I will most likely take more chemistry classes than biology classes in college, considering my major won't be either one.

So which one would help the most?

I don’t think either was that important, but I feel like chem is a more linear class where you can get a slightly more variable education in bio depending on professor interests. What I mean is that doing chem is more likely to be of value that what you learn in HS bio for your college equivalents.

Well, if it makes a difference, the AP Bio teacher in my school is amazing. It is a very tough class where even the smartest of kids have to put a lot of time to study. So I will assume that it would help towards college.

Comparatively, the chemistry teacher is also very good, but she’s not out of this world like the other dude.

Do you guys think I would forget most of the bio since it is memorization by the time I take the class in college? Would that happen for chem too?

neither really helps. just take what you’re more interested in.

If you can’t decide based on what bigred said, take the better teacher.

To be honest I don’t think either of them makes much of a difference. You relearn everything in college chem and bio classes since they assume you are starting from scratch (or at least they teach it that way). But if I had to choose I’d say chem.

Take the course that is your weakest subject (assuming teachers are the same quality). If all else is equal, choose Chem since that will be your first course Frosh year. (You may or may not take Bio first year, depending on your college, since some colleges make Chem a prereq for Bio.)

Then I guess I will take chem, since that is my weakest subject as I took that class as a joke when I took it honors.

Let’s just hope they allow me to switch now and they dont make me wait until the beginning of school

Im not really interested in either, but I think subject-wise I like bio a little more, but I wouldn’t like that much studying for my Senior Year. Im taking 3 AP’s already.

While you guys say you relearn everything, Im the kind of student that in science and math classes is very smart, but it takes me awhile to understand everything, so if I can have a head start, it can be really good.

are you planning on retaking ap science classes in college? I recommend it.

Yea of course. The reason why I would take either class would be to have a head-start
