Bio SAT in a week!

I'm a freshman who took a pre IB bio class..which is the same thing as honors but our school is IB instead of AP so its claled pre IB. Ive been studying for about a month consistently but the highest practice test score I got was a 730 on the princeton review. How should I spend my last week of studying..I feel like I don't have to study anymore topics but I just need to improve my test taking skills. I'm taking E btw.

I’m taking the Bio SAT next week, and i’m really nervous too.

The princeton review practice tests are relatively close to the real bio SAT (i’m going by the official SAT II study guide), and the book is VERY helpful. You should definetly spend your last week taking more and more practice tests (Sparknotes has more), going over taxonomy (page 194 in PR), reviewing plants, photosynthesis / cell respiration, and the human body systems. 70% of the test is that. After you have taken the practice tests, go study what you are doubtful on (don’t go by what you got right or wrong – when you see something you don’t get on the test, write it down. If you see a pattern developing, review the section). I have 1 sister and 1 brother going to brown and princeton respectively, and my brother just recently took the SAT bio 3 years ago (received an 800), and told me how to study. It is working miracles on me. In 5 days and maybe 15-20 hours of studying, i’ve gone from a 690 to 790 and probably higher. If you keep studying, getting more familiar with the test, and knowing what you need to work on, there is no way you will get less than an 800.

I’m sorry this sounds so…generic, but it really is the best way to go.

przgonna: so you’re saying i should just take some practice tests and write down my doubts and study my doubts. i think this is a good idea but i honestly am really scared for the test any other helpful tips?

yeahh i think i just got lazy and was hoping for a short cut -___- sigh. time to study again. oh and on the real SAT II, do they pop in a few ridic questions that weve never seen before?

oh and any tips on test taking…?

Basically thats what you should do for the next few days, thatscool1023. The worst thing to do is let test anxiety get the best of you – don’t be scared. Practice makes perfect. Relax – there is a slight curve, if you get 4 or 5 wrong you’ll get above a 750.
