Bio SAT Subject Test

First off, which one should I take: Ecology or Molecular?? While I always thought that Ecology would be much easier, I've actually heard the opposite from seniors who have taken it: one has said that Molecular is actually easier bc it is so broad, so the questions are more general. Is this true?

Also, how should I prepare? I'm signed up for the May 7th exam, and I'm taking the AP Bio exam on May 9th. I have the AP Bio Barrons book; will this be enough? I'm thinking the SAT subject test will be easier than the AP exam bc it is only multiple choice and no essay, so I'm thinking if I just study for the AP exam, then I'll be good for the SAT II. Any thoughts? I'm aiming for as high as I can get, but preferably in the mid/high 700s.

I heard some colleges prefer molecular over ecology…

Wait. I registered for the SATII Bio E/M. That means I can pick either E or M…?

^yup you don’t have to decide until test day, when you fill out the test code on your answer sheet.

For me, it depended on the curve. I had friends that took M and got a 790. I took E and got a 760. But don’t go based on this because the curve changes every year so it could be flipped this year.

To prepare, I just used the PR book I had for the AP exam. It’s really not that different. I don’t like Barron’s because they make it really boring :P

bioboy12 : BUT Barrons book have many info which important 4 the test (just told u) :)
