Bio SAT

I'm taking Biology E/M this year on the May date right before I take my AP Biology test on the Monday afterwards. I'm a pretty good Biology student and have read Campbell throughout the year. I am using Cliff's AP (the recommended by all book) to study for the AP test. What is the difficulty level of the subject test? Can I get a high/perfect score only by using Cliff's AP or do I need other books in order to prep?

Thanks in advance.

I'm doing same thing as you. Read campbell, barrons AP, prolly read pr sat2 soon. im positive i can get an 800.. just see how much you know, take a practice test.

bumpin it up.

Really wasn't too bad at all. For AP USH compared to the SAT II USH, I found that the SAT II turned out to be a beefed up version of the AP MC section.

On the Bio SAT II, however, I found that the questions were really straight forward. Think broad in nature, rather than super detailed and specific. I took the SAT II for practice the following year before really reviewing, and I was planning on canceling it, but I felt great and got a 790. Cliffs was very good prep, and you are looking at a 750+. Before the AP I used Cliffs/Barrons/PR/5 Steps, and got to the stage where I was emailing the publishers about mistakes in their books (of course not Cliffs!). If anything just read Cliffs, Barrons, and your set. Have fun.

Most of all, if you enjoy the subject and actually understand it - you will do very well.

I didn't use any prep books and my normal AP bio textbook to study...basically I just relied on my classwork to guide my score. I wasn't a very good student either, I got D's and C's on some tests...

I took both E and M, receiving 750 and 740 respectively. I wasn't fully prepped for either of those tests-not to be cocky but I probably could have scored 770+ on both =/

I would definetely take the Sat II Bio E/M test (wait until test day to see which question set is easier; you'll have time) if you're taking the AP test as well. It's debatable but I found the AP test to be a notch easier than the Sat II tests. Needless to say, unless you're struggling in AP Bio, you should be taking both tests.

Best of luck to you.

its better to know one book well, then 2 books mediocre
