I know they're two different tracks. And everyone I know is Biochem: Cell Bio. Currently, I'm BioChem:Chem, and I'm kinda scared since everyone is going the cell bio route. (They all say its easier) So is there much difference? I'm close to finishing my first year, so I don't know too much about these majors. Just wondering if you guys have any insight. Thank you.

I have no idea but can I also ask:
What’s the difference between Biochem & Cell Bio and Biochem & Chem? and their advantages/disadvantages?

Shouldn’t you know if it’s more difficult since you’re taking classes for the Biochem:Chem track already?

The differences include, but are not limited to:

Biochem:Bio
Math 10 Series, 10C may be replaced with Math 11 (Stats class)
Physics 1 Series
Mostly upper div biology/biochem classes

Biochem:Chem
Math 20 Series, all the way through Math 20D (Differential Equations)
Physics 2 Series (For Chem/Engineering/Math/CS Majors)
Mostly upper div chem/biochem classes (Several upper div chem series must be completed)

I know that stuff.

Just wondering if it will affect me at all. They both get the name “biochem” and yet one is easier than the other. I just don’t get it. I think I’m sticking with biochem chem though. Any more advice? =(

You should honestly just major in whatever you prefer, whether you like biology or chemistry better. That’s really all there is to it.

agreed.

(chem rocks.)

Isn’t Biochem: Cell Bio in Biological Sciences and Biochem: Chem in Chemistry & Biochemistry?
The former is an impacted major.

I’m going to go ahead and stay Biochem:chem.

So what if it’s harder? Sounds like fun! haha.

Seems like chem>bio in terms of difficulty from the description of the courseload of each major.

it’s not harder for everyone … some of us just happen to like chem more than memorizing obscure facts.
