Ok so I really love science, mostly biology and chemistry, and I can't decide between getting a degree in Biochem or biology. I also have no desire to go on to med school (Pharm school is a maybe). What would be some good minors to have with those degrees? Another thing is that I've been researching these majors and I've seen posts about how getting a BS is biology or a field related to biology is worthless and I just wanted to know if that is completely true.

I’ll also add the fact that I am also interested is things such as medicine, disease, genetics and topics such as those.

Chemistry is not all that good either on this front.

That does answer one question, thanks!

Computer science and/or statistics would be good supplements for minors if not majors. -Omics and dry computations (as opposed to wet lab skills) are pretty niche these days. Plus you can always take your programming/statistics to Google or w/e or anywhere really if you find out you don’t like biology.

Biochem offers more variety in terms of future jobs you can get if Med or Pharm school doesn’t work out. However, if you do major in Biology, I suggest a concentration in Microbiology. I also opens up more job prospects!
