Biochemical Engineering in UCD, is it the same as Bioengineering?

Hi, everyone

I have been admitted to UCD as Bioengineering. I have also been admitted to UCSD, but they put me to undeclared, so there’s a pretty good chance that I might go to UCD instead.

The problem is, I’m not sure what is the difference between Biochemical Engineering and Bioengineering. I’m really passionate about BioE, and intended to pursue it as a future career (That’s why I applied to UCSD in the first place). So is there anyone who knows the difference (programs/careers) between the biochem E in UCD and the bioE in UCSD? And is there any recommendation about which UC should I go to?

Thanks!

All the majors at UC Davis are at the following link:

Click on a major, and you can find out requirements, a description of the major, etc. I myself don't really know much about the difference between Biochemical Engineering and Bioengineering because I'm a Genetics major, however, from my understanding Bioengineering encompasses Biomedical and Biochemical engineering. Both programs are offered at UC Davis.
