The college that I attend has an option for those majoring in chemical engineering. They say that after the first two years, you can choose either the chemical track or the biochemical track. Now, both of them have similar courses. The only difference is that biochemical has a few more upper level bio courses (the Chem E track has technical/general electives in this place).

So, I'm guessing if I choose the biochemical track, and graduate with this degree, I can still work any job that a chemical engineer can, since I take all the courses that those of the Chem E. track take. Correct???

Well, not exactly. I'm a biochemical engineer and as an undergraduate I had a hard time trying to getting an internship for regular chemical engineers for some reason, and my GPA is high. According to them, they were looking for only chemical engineers. Maybe I didn't have luck, I don't know for sure. However, I do know most biochemical engineers do find internships and jobs for drug companies. Maybe its too specialize? Then again, where I went most of the chemical engineering courses were different as you progress depending on your major and there is more to it then just more biology courses.
