Hi I am a senior in high school and I am a little conflicted on what college major I want. For a very long time I wanted to go to college to major in biochemistry because I think it is a very interesting subject. However, after asking around I am afraid that it doesn't have much promise in the future as a career choice, and many colleges only offer an undergraduate degree. I would like to gain a doctorates degree in the future, and that is when I heard about biomedical engineering.

I know that they are two different subjects, but I think BME is a good graduates degree to have in order to gain a good career in scientific research. I was wondering if I should still work towards an undergraduate degree in biochemistry and then enroll in a BME graduates program. Or should I work towards a BME undergraduates degree and think of something new for a doctorates degree. My top college choices are GA Tech, Princeton, Johns Hopkins, and other schools with science majors. Either way, I want to major in some sort of biological or chemistry program. I'm sorry if this is too long.
