Biochemistry and Social Life

Hey,

I'm gonna be a Biochemistry major in the Fall at the University of Delaware. I know Biochem will be a lot of work and I'm excited about the challenge. I just have a lot of outside noise about how my college life is going to be. My cousin who graduated already positively told me if I manage my time properly I will be able to have fun along with learning. Some of my friends going to UD with me claim that I wont have a life. It really worries me. Currently I'm taking Gen. Chem 1, Intro to Chem, First Year Experince, which is a seminar, French and Pre-Calc. Any thoughts?

Listen to your cousin. I have friends who are in a variety of majors. Some who are double majoring in two difficult unrelated (no overlap) majors.

If you manage your time correctly you can still hang out, attend sporting events, party, and everything else “normal” college students do.

Your social life is completely up to you. You can definitely balance academics and friends, but it’s easy to fall to just one side and ignore the other. try not to let that happen.
