Biochemistry Major, A lot of chemistry, not a lot of Bio?

I am doing Biochemistry, and I saw the major requirements, and all I can say is damnn. I love chemistry, perfect mix of math and science to me. Its great, BUT wheres the biology classes. I mean I expected at least a couple..Because then what differs this from the Chemistry major.

Anyone out there who's a Bio major? Can you just brief, or paste the requirements, because Im thinking that would be a positive switch, for someone going the premed route.

I'm just clueless, I just dont want to be one of the kids who changes there major like 2 years in or whatnot

basic pre-reqs for bio
just posting the life science route because i’m not too sure about the physical science one, but i believe that’s the one you’re on right now.

math
3a, 3b, 3c

chem
14a, 14b, 14bl, 14c, 14cl, 14d

physics
6a, 6b, 6c

life science
1, 2, 3, 4

stats 13

i believe that’s all.

oh and life science classes (LS) are bio classes, in case you were unsure. because i’m almost positive you have to take those for biochem as well…

Isn’t biochemistry just a type of chemistry? It’s not like a double major. I guess a regular chem major would do O-Chem or P-Chem instead of biochem.

yeah, i went in thinking biochem would be a mix of bio and chem too.

biochem is the study of chemical processes in living organisms. like interaction of amino acids, proteins/enzymes, nucleotides, lipids, glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, DNA replication, etc

i switched to phy sci. :D
