Anyone else taking it next saturday (the 18th)? Ready to go yet? And a question to anyone who might know, what is considered a good score? I realize the percentile is what matters, but is 85th% solid, or do you need something more like a 95th% to look impressive?

I was told anything above 90th% is considered impressive.

hi bearsbeets n PhD bound.. which books would u recommend for the subject test.. mine is on 8th Nov.. thanks..

When I studied, I used mainly "Molecular Biology of the Cell" by Alberts, and some class notes. Good Luck.

so there's no need to go through the very bulky Voet or genes 8?? some of my friends who'd given it earlier suggested these two books as well.. i guess they just wanted me to do more work??!!

I just studied class notes and the textbooks I still have from those classes. I think anything that covers all the topics listed in the exam outline is probably fine.

I also found "Molecular Biology of the Cell" by Alberts to be the best.

^^

best book ever for everything about bio (-quantitative stuff)

I scanned through Alberts.. it doesnt cover the Biochemistry syllabus stated in the GRE booklet.. any recommendations for that?? thanks
