<p>For pre-med, you can major in anything, as long as you take the pre-med courses. Most unrelated majors leave plenty of schedule space to take the pre-med courses as electives.</p>
<p>Biology and biochemistry may be convenient in that their major requirements overlap with the pre-med courses, but they have poor job and career prospects at the bachelor’s degree level, which is where most pre-meds end up (most pre-meds do not get into any medical school).</p>
